Washington D.C. February 9, 2017 – Indev, LLC is pleased to announce it is providing Agile & DevOps (integrated development and operations) Coaching services to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). We are supporting multiple DevOps pilots in a commercial cloud environment, facilitating a continuous development / continuous integration (CD/CI) process for ICE systems. The CD/CI environment greatly speeds development and deployment timeframes over conventional “waterfall” development projects. Our efforts are greatly assisting ICE’s transformation to DevOps, including development of an overarching Agile/DevOps Playbook and associated processes, templates, artifacts, training materials, and lessons learned.
DevOps is the practice of operations and development teams participating together in the entire service lifecycle, from design through the development process to production support. Born of the need to improve IT service delivery agility, DevOps emphasizes communication, collaboration and integration between software developers and IT operations. Rather than seeing these two groups as silos who pass things along but don’t work as a cohesive unit, DevOps recognizes the interdependence of software development and IT operations that will help the ICE OCIO produce software and IT services more rapidly, with frequent iterations.
Indev is an established provider of DevOps Agile Coaching, facilitating the delivery of quality systems across multiple Federal environments. Indev also provides QA and IV&V support to the ICE OCIO Quality Assurance Branch gaining valuable insights into Agile and DevOps software development processes in use across ICE. Coupled with past experiences and lessons learned providing Agile Coaching and related services to other federal agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), Indev has an unsurpassed ability to provide mission-critical DevOps Agile Coaching services.
