Senior Solutions / Technical / Business Architect

Indev is seeking a Senior Solutions/Technical/Business Architect who can support one of our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) clients. Candidate will act as the technical lead for all matters regarding information technology with regards to portfolio and program management. 

In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the government’s needs from a technical perspective and be able to translate those needs into business requirements. The lead will be responsible for making decisions relating to technology and other technical implementations and for providing insight and understanding to stakeholders not as familiar with technical aspects of the portfolio. Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment and liaise with IT Program Managers, project managers, and mission stakeholders. This is a highly visible role with exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, which will require a combination of technology program and portfolio management and soft people skills to support multiple OCIO projects/programs. 

Required Qualifications to be Successful in This Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related academic focus area
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical, business, and solution architecting is required
  • Experience in identifying and classifying application components according to the specific business and performance objectives they support and the technologies they employ
  • Experience in analysis of the current application inventory and provide detailed application architecture guidelines to improve business processes
  • 10+ years of relevant experience (education may not be combined)
  • Experience working with DHS and ICE Architecture, Engineering, and other organizations to support application architecture planning, implementation, and maintenance
  • Expert in assessing performance of applications in producing business value and return on investment
  • Experience in conducting walkthroughs of the solution architectural design as needed/requested

Additional Desired Qualifications to be Successful in This Role

  • Experience in SDLC/SELC/SLM release support
  • Experience with organizational change management
  • Able to handle conflict resolution well, facilitating discussion and alternatives of different approaches
  • Experience in working with Agile development teams in federal environments
  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills


Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Federal Clearance (Active Department of Homeland Security Clearance required, Immigration and Customs Enforcement preferred)
